Alan Wilzig was born on April 20, 1965, in Clifton, New Jersey. From a Polish Jewish family that survived the Holocaust and arrived in the united states in 1947. His father Siggi Wilzig purchased the Trust Company of New Jersey in 1968 and built it into a 45-branch franchise.
Wilzig enrolled at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1987.

Alan Wilzig starts working for his father’s Trust right after graduating. He was elected to the board of directors in 1997, then he was promoted to senior executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1999. In 2002, Wilzig became the president and CEO of the company.
After the death of his father, the company’s value doubled and Sold for $752 million in cash and stock in 2004 to North Fork Bank. This deal made Wilzig a young multi-millionaire.
Restaurant Business
Wilzig started investing in restaurants, he was a co-owner of the restaurant Kutsher’s Tribeca, a modern Jewish-American bistro that opened in Tribeca in 2011.
